Group Project with Arthur Lee
Only touching the ground at four points, the Tao Pavilion uses a set of interlocking laminated timber pieces in a grid pattern to gracefully rise and rest. Funicular elements carry load from the top to the four points through raised intersections, while the four openings cantilever from the edges.
